The objectives are to present the basic elements of the theory of Semi-groups related to orthogonal expansions. Discuss and compare the analytical and probabilistic aspects of the theory. Introduce the students to recent and varied applications of this theory.

This summer school will focus on certain recent progress of mathematical modeling and numerical computations related to the waves propagation, for engineering and bio-mathematical applications. Theses topics are of very actual interest and concern particularly the Venezuelan natural environment.

Distribution and objects are two central players of current computer sciences and industry. It all started about 15 years ago with the advent of both objectoriented languages and the beginning of the facto networking in operating systems. The trends became even more dramatic with the outgrowth of the Internet, the Web, and electronic commerce.
