Summary: The course consists of the following sessions: 

  • Introducting the plan for the general audience: this includes talking about choromatic poly- nomial, log-concave sequences, some basic example etc.
  • Mixed-multiplicity: talking about the Commutative Algeba basis will be useful since most of the audience are graduating in this field.
  • Hyperplane arrangment: This topic is most accessable and provide the first non-trivial connections.
  • Algebraic Geometry: represatable cycles and the connection between mixed-multiplicity and Betti numbers.
  • The connections between the above topics and the proof of the Read’s conjectutre.
